Hillary in Japan

In September, 2006, my husband (hereafter known as the Hub) and I found ourself facing unexpected orders from the United States Navy to a tiny base in Sasebo, Japan. After a flurry of packing and last-minute preparations, we arrived on Christmas Eve, 2006, to start our new adventures in a completely foreign culture where we were instantly illiterate and ignorant. Determined to both enjoy our time here and to educate ourselves a bit, this journal will chronicle our attempts to do both. On a different note, this blog is intended to allow me to keep my family and my friends up-to-date with explanations for the pictures they receive; with that said, I don't mind at all if strangers take a gander at my musings, but I do ask that everyone play nicely! I'm not looking for a love interest or for visitors unless I already knew them from before, but if you find yourself in the same predicament, feel free to send me a note. As others have helped me out in this journey, so I'll try to do the same for you. :) Enjoy everyone!
